Community Advisory Council

The Community Advisory Council (CAC) is a pilot program of the Mississippi Museum of Art and invites members of our community to be thought partners in all aspects of Museum organization and planning. The goal of the CAC is to help the Museum examine its approach to exhibitions, programming, and community engagement by offering feedback, ideas for collaborative opportunities, and awareness of the desires of local communities. The Council is currently comprised of 32 community members diverse in age, occupation, race, and gender.

If you are interested in joining the Community Advisory Council, contact Monique Davis at mdavis@msmuseumart.org.

Gallery Guild

Founded in 1965, the Gallery Guild promotes the visual arts through lectures, programs and supports acquisitions of the Mississippi Museum of Art. There are two programs a year, in the Fall and the Spring. The Guild has sponsored widely recognized lecturers to speak to its members and guests. For more information email GalleryGuildMS@gmail.com or visit Gallery Guild Mississippi on Facebook.

National Advisory Council

CAPE will convene a group of thought leaders, scholars, and artists, whose work aligns with the overarching goals of CAPE, to discuss best practices, current developments in the field, and identify trends that affect art practice and civic engagement. This National Advisory Council will serve as an evaluation tool, helping the Museum remain at the forefront of conversations around visual art, civil rights, and racial justice. If you are interested in joining the National Advisory Council, contact Monique Davis at mdavis@msmuseumart.org.
