Get ready to stuff those stockings during this day of bubbly champagne, scrumptious samples, and delightful products by Mississippi artisans and entrepreneurs. Gift-wrapping is free with purchases, and Museum members receive 10% off everything in the store!
Beginning at 4 PM, meet some of The Museum Store’s most creative vendors, including jewelry designer Jo Patterson; Carlie Hogan and her Galexie Glister glitter gel for face, body, and hair; Paul Meek of Morton, Miss., crafter of wooden duck and turkey calls; Jamie Faulkner of Let It Be Yours Jewelry; feather painter Elaine Maisel; the fine folks from Mississippi Cold Drip Coffee & Tea Co. and FEAST Specialty Foods; and the ladies of Kay & Renee Collectibles.
At 5:45 PM, the parish choir from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral will fill the halls with the joyful sounds of Christmas classics for a special holiday edition of Music in the City. Bring the kids for cookie-decorating and crafts and leave with hearts overflowing with the holiday spirit.
The occasion will also mark the opening day of our newest exhibition, Under the Winter Sky: Watercolors by William Hollingsworth, Jr, a selection of 14 of the late Mississippi artist's characteristic watercolors, which share the theme of having been painted in the winter months of the last few years of the painter’s short life.
Throughout December, stop by and take in the dazzling light display in The Walker Garden designed and generously provided by McCall Landscaping & Lawn Maintenance. (Remember, we’ve extended our hours to 7 PM Tuesday through Thursday!)
