Who We Are

David and Edie Varnardo

Orthodox Christians. Parents of 5 incredibly talented children. Caretakers of 95 acres.

Our History

David grew up in a pink house on the tracks in Magnolia Mississippi. He studied horticulture and French at Southeastern Louisiana University, taught high school French and Spanish for 25 years and retired to a life of growing hardy palms, selling soap at markets and being the front guy at Topisaw General Store.

Edie grew up in Vicksburg Mississippi, learning to drive a stick shift up its treacherous hills. She graduated from USM with an interesting but useless degree in Philosophy + Religion, ran a diaper service called Cotton Tails, taught herself to bake and spends hours mentally redecorating the house.

The Stories

A Brief Bit of History

A bit perkier we think! Retro green and vermilion with just a touch of yellow. Edie designed the logo and sign, local artist Saul Mauer built it, and he and welder extraordinaire Charlie Case hung it with galvanized pipe. Photo by Tony Swift.

Here's 105 Main the day it became ours in September 2011. A bit brown + musty but with solid bones.
