Caboose Restaurant, The

From the business:

After selling their popular Louisiana Caboose Restaurants in 2007, Lloyd and Dione Kinchen set their sights on McComb for their next culinary collaboration. The Caboose opened in November of 2008 in The Historic Harlan Building in Downtown Depot District.

*The Caboose Restaurant was named by Lloyd when he opened the original Caboose Restaurant in downtown Independence, Louisiana in 1991. After so many years in the restaurant business, this was to be his "Final Venture". And here we are, 2016, two restaurants later, located across those same tracks in downtown McComb. We look forward to sharing our passion for great food, great wine and fun times with you and your family!

The Stories

My husband and I absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was excellent, the staff was wonderful, and we just had an all around great experience. My one year old was trying to fuss and instead of getting annoyed, the staff would pass by our table and talk to him and try to get his attention and make him smile. Great customer service!! Keep up the good work! We will definitely be back and will for sure tell others to try this place at least once!

Dione Kinchen, joined by Pike County Arts Council Director Michael Gattuso, reflects on The Caboose Restaurant in McComb, Mississippi. Dione and her husband Lloyd Kinchen have operated a series of successful restaurants, and The Caboose takes the couple’s Louisiana menu and sensibilities and enmeshes them in the McComb community. As the name suggests, The Caboose embraces the railroad that is both an integral part of McComb’s history and a symbol of the town’s progress forward.
