The purpose of the McComb Creative Economy Partnership is to revitalize the City of McComb through cultural arts by serving as a resource, fostering those individuals, businesses, and organizations within the creative economy. The MCEP produces the annual McComb Blues & Heritage Festival which takes place the last Saturday in April, and is in the process of creating an Arts & Heritage Trail featuring heritage preserving works of art.

What is the Creative Economy?

Imagine downtown McComb alive with the smell of Cajun and country cooking and the sound of the blues.

This is the vision a new group called the McComb Creative Economy Partnership has for the city.

Vickie Webb, who sits on the board of the partnership, told city officials Tuesday that the group is organizing a Blues & Heritage Festival April 30.

“We will have activities, entertainment and vendors from Canal and Railroad Boulevard to just north of the parking garage,” Webb said of the event, which is expected to start at 10 a.m. and last until 9 p.m.

It is the aim of the organization to promote venues for the arts and live music in McComb, specifically in the city’s downtown...
